Trula Settings
People ask this as
- how do I connect Trula
- where do I get the Trula dock panel token
- the token field is empty after I saved it
- the badge says New token required
- Trula donations do not arrive
- music requests from Trula do not show up
What this page is
Connections → Monetization → Trula is where Trula is given the token from its OBS dock panel so donations reach the app. Two things live here: the Accept donations switch and the token itself.
On Trula a donation and a music request are one and the same action: the viewer pays, and the track goes into the queue.
How to set it up
- Open Connections → Monetization and press Connect Trula on the card. On an already connected card the same page opens with Configure. The arrow in the top left, Back, returns to the list.
- The page is headed Trula Settings, with "Configure Trula to receive donation notifications." under it.
- The top row is Accept donations, subtitled Trula, with a badge and a switch. The switch acts the moment you flip it — it is not waiting for the save button. With it off the badge reads Disabled and nothing is received.
- Press Open the Trula dashboard. It opens trula.io in your ordinary browser. The hint says where to look: Trula puts this token into the OBS dock panel link, in your Trula dashboard.
- Paste the whole link into Dock panel token — the app reads the token out of it itself. Pasting just the token works too, if that is what you have.
- Press Save Settings in the top right corner. It reports back on itself — Saving…, then Saved, or Error. After a successful save the page closes itself and returns to the list of services.
- Saving with the field empty and no token stored yet is refused with "Please enter your dock panel token."
- Reopen the page to check. The token field is empty on purpose — a stored token is never shown back to you. That it exists is said by the prompt inside the field: "Token saved — leave empty to keep it". Leaving the field empty and pressing Save Settings keeps it untouched; to switch accounts, paste the new one over.
- The badge beside the switch tells you where the connection stands: Not connected (no token yet), Disabled (the switch is off), Connecting…, New token required, Connection error, or Connected.
- New token required means the stored token no longer works — most often it was reissued in the dashboard. Get the dock panel link again and save it over the old one.
What arrives, and what it counts as
- A Trula donation arrives as an ordinary donation event, so alerts, goals, the auction and voice over pick it up without being told about Trula at all.
- Trula takes roubles only, and the amount is converted into your base currency the same as every other service.
- The donor's name arrives with the donation. A donation sent anonymously shows as anonymous, and the name of the platform account behind it is not revealed.
What is normal here
- Donations that arrived while the app was closed are not replayed. Trula runs around the clock and donations come in at night; without this rule the morning start would play back all of them at once — the carousel spinning through the night, voice over queued for minutes, challenge counters filling with yesterday's money.
- The cost of that rule is worth knowing: a donation lost during a network failure in the minute before you restart the app is lost for good. Missing one donation is the cheaper side of the trade.
- The connection card shows no account name. The dock panel token does not give one out, and the name in a donation belongs to the viewer, not to you.
