StreamEngine Settings

People ask this as

What this page is

Connections → Monetization → StreamEngine is where StreamEngine is given the link to your messages feed so its payments reach the app. Two things live here: the Accept payments switch and the link itself.

StreamEngine is not quite like the other donation services. A viewer there does not send you a transfer — they buy something that happens on your screen: flip it for ten seconds, blur the camera, or queue a track. The money arrives as an ordinary donation, and the app also carries what was bought.

How to set it up

  1. Open Connections → Monetization and press Connect StreamEngine on the card. On an already connected card the same page opens with Configure. The arrow in the top left, Back, returns to the list.
  2. The page is headed StreamEngine Settings, with "Connect StreamEngine to receive donations, on-screen effects and media requests." under it.
  3. The top row is Accept payments, subtitled StreamEngine, with a badge and a switch. The switch acts the moment you flip it — it is not waiting for the save button. With it off the badge reads Disabled and nothing is received.
  4. Press Open the StreamEngine dashboard. It opens streamengine.app in your ordinary browser. The link you need is the one for the messages feed widget — the address you would paste into OBS as a browser source.
  5. Paste the whole link into Dock panel link. Do not try to cut a token out of it: the app needs two values from that address and takes both itself.
  6. Press Save Settings in the top right corner. It reports back on itself — Saving…, then Saved, or Error. After a successful save the page closes itself and returns to the list of services.
  7. Saving with the field empty and no link stored yet is refused with "Please paste the dock panel link."
  8. Reopen the page to check. The link field is empty on purpose — a stored link is never shown back to you, because it is a key to your feed. That it exists is said by the prompt inside the field: "Link saved — leave empty to keep it". Leaving the field empty and pressing Save Settings keeps it untouched; to switch accounts, paste the new link over.
  9. The badge beside the switch tells you where the connection stands: Not connected (no link yet), Disabled (the switch is off), Connecting…, New link required, Connection error, or Connected.
  10. New link required means the link is incomplete, from the wrong page, or has been reissued in the dashboard. Copy the whole link again and save it over the old one.

What arrives, and what it counts as

What is skipped on purpose

The StreamEngine feed is not only StreamEngine. It also carries events from Twitch, DonationAlerts and Trovo if you have connected them there.

The app takes only StreamEngine's own payments from it. Everything belonging to another platform is skipped, because your own connectors already deliver it: without this, every follower would fire twice and a DonationAlerts donation would be counted into your goals two times over.

Three more kinds are skipped, and each for its own reason:

A free media request is skipped as well: an event without money is not a donation.
