What this tile is
Voice over: Queue is the Control Panel tile for the one thing you cannot do from a settings page mid-stream: see what the app is about to read aloud, and stop it. Add it to the Control Panel like any other tile.
It shows the line being spoken right now and the lines waiting behind it, each labelled with where it came from — donation, sub, chat or bot. Two buttons sit under the list: Skip drops the line being read and moves to the next, Stop clears everything at once.
How to read it
The dot and the line above the list say which of four states you are in:
- Speaking — a line is being read; its text is the first row of the list.
- Silent — nothing is being read and nothing is waiting.
- Voice over is off — the voice is switched off entirely. The hint says where to change that: Voice → Voice Over.
- Waiting for voice over… — the tile has no state to show at all, because the Voice Over module is not running.
The buttons go dark when there is nothing to interrupt. Skip lights up only while something is being spoken; Stop lights up when something is being spoken or waiting. A button that does nothing when pressed would read as a broken tile, so it is greyed out instead.
Pressing one shows a short confirmation on the tile — Skipped or Queue cleared — so you know the press landed without watching the list.
What it cannot do
- It does not decide what gets read. Which sources are spoken, the donation threshold, the phrase templates, blocked words and viewers all live on Voice → Voice Over. The tile only shows the result and lets you cut it short.
- It does not pick voices. That is Voice → Voices, one voice per task.
- Skip and Stop need the Voice Over module running. They are delivered to that module, while the reading itself is done by the app core — so if the module is switched off in the catalog while the core is still speaking, the buttons will look available and do nothing. Switch the module back on, or use Voice → *off* on the Voices page to silence everything.
- A line already being spoken cannot be rewound or paused — only skipped. Sound that has already left for the speakers is not recalled, so a very short line may finish anyway.
- The queue cannot be reordered, and a single waiting line cannot be removed: the list is read-only apart from the two buttons.
- There is no history. What was read is gone from the tile the moment it finishes; the tile shows the present, not the stream.
- Nothing here is written to chat. The tile speaks to your speakers, not to your viewers.
