Kick Integration

What this page is

The page connects a Kick channel to the app — as its description puts it, "Configure Kick integration to receive chat messages and send replies." It exists in two variants: the channel the chat is read from, and a separate account the bot answers from.

How to set it up

  1. Open Connections → Channels and open the Kick page. Its header reads Kick Integration.
  2. Connection Status shows where you stand. The badge reads Disconnected, Connecting..., Connected to channel {username}, Connection error or Reconnection required, and it refreshes on its own while the page is open.
  3. Press Connect Kick. The hint under the button says what it does: "Sign in with Kick — the chat-sending token is obtained automatically." Sign-in opens in your usual browser and finishes there.
  4. When it goes through, the badge moves from Connecting... to Connected to channel {username}, and the button turns into Disconnect — the hint under it disappears.
  5. Disconnect switches the module off. Connect Kick switches it back on and starts the sign-in again; the same button is what you press when the badge says Reconnection required.
  6. Advanced (manual) is a collapsed section under the button — open it when the channel did not resolve itself:
    • Kick Channel Name (Username) — write it as it appears in the channel's web address, not as it is displayed: lower case, and underscores turn into hyphens.
    • Chatroom ID (Auto-resolved) and Broadcaster User ID (Auto-resolved) — the empty fields say "Usually resolved automatically". They are filled in during sign-in; type them by hand only when they stayed empty.
    • Avatar URL (Optional) — "Direct link to your avatar image".
    • Save manually writes all four. The button says Saving…, then Saved, or Error if the writing failed. After a successful save the status goes to Connecting... and the settings page closes itself.
  7. With the channel name empty, saving stops and a dialog says "Please enter channel name".
  8. The arrow at the top left, Back, leaves the page.

The bot account

The same page under Connections → Bots is headed Kick Bot and is much shorter: the status badge, one field Bot Account Name (Username), the Connect Kick button, and Save & Connect in the top right corner. Type the name of the account the bot should answer from, press Save & Connect — with an empty field a dialog says "Please enter bot account name" — and press Connect Kick to sign that account in through the browser. Chatroom ID, Broadcaster User ID and Avatar URL are not shown in this view.
