Kick: chat in the shared feed

What arrives from Kick

Kick gives less than the other two platforms, and it is worth knowing that before you build an evening around it.

• Chat messages in the shared feed, marked with the platform icon and the role of the person writing — streamer, moderator, VIP, subscriber.
• Chat commands starting with “!” work exactly as they do elsewhere.
• The viewer count, which reaches the counter tile on the control panel.
• Subscriptions and donations do not arrive: Kick has no events for them yet. Alerts and goals therefore stay empty on this platform until it changes.

What the app can do on Kick

• Write in chat as your own account, or as a separate bot account you connect on purpose.
• Reading always goes through the main channel; the bot only sends.
• Commands, timed messages and the AI co-host answer in Kick chat with no separate setup.

Connecting, and what can break

Connection is one button and an authorization page — the token and the channel data are picked up by themselves.

• The token refreshes automatically. If Kick revokes access — a password change, for instance — the status turns to “reconnect needed” and one button fixes it.
• Kick does not officially expose the chatroom id, so the app works it out once and stores it; it can be corrected by hand in the advanced block.
• The connection to chat is kept up permanently: a live broadcast is not required for it.

What it is made of

Each part is a separate module: you install only the ones you need, and any of them can be removed without breaking the rest.

Getting started

1. Open Connections → Kick and press connect.
2. Authorize on the Kick page and allow access.
3. Optionally connect a bot account so replies do not come from your own name.
4. Check that messages reach the chat overlay.

Kick is the youngest of the three platforms and gives the least. Everything built on chat works there; everything built on money does not yet — and that is on the platform’s side, not ours.
