What this page is

Donation Goals is a list of fundraising bars for OBS. Each goal in it is its own overlay with its own target, its own look and its own link — a general one that stays on screen, one for tonight, one nobody sees yet. Incoming donations add themselves up; this page is where the titles, the numbers and the looks are set.

The list

Every goal is a row: a switch, its name, how much it has collected of its target, the link for OBS with Copy, and the buttons Pause, Duplicate, Delete and Configure.

How to set up one goal

  1. Press Configure in the row. In the middle is a live preview of the bar — title, bar and the progress text on it, written as 6500 / 10000 (65%). The name of the goal is the field in the header, next to Back to list.
  2. In the left column pick Goal Data.
  3. Goal Title is the line above the bar — what viewers read. Leave it empty and it reads Fundraising, in the language of the application. It is not the same as the name in the header: that one is only for the list.
  4. Target Amount is the number the bar fills up to; 1 is the smallest it takes.
  5. Current Amount is where the bar stands right now. Donations move it themselves, so you normally touch it only to correct the figure or to start over — put 0 there for a new stream. The field keeps up with live donations while you have the page open, and pressing Save Settings without touching it does not roll the bar back. Reset next to the field puts the collected amount back to zero — the same goal starts over, keeping its look, its title and its OBS link. It asks first and names the amount: that number is not stored anywhere else.
  6. The rest of the left column is the look — Backdrop, Title, Bar, Fill, Progress Text. Backdrop is the panel behind the title and the bar: Background Color, Corner Radius, Padding, Border and Shadow. It is invisible until you give it a background — the bar looked that way before the setting existed, and an overlay already in your scene must not change by itself. Colours, sizes, fonts, corner radius, borders and glow open on the right, and the preview follows every change at once. The look belongs to this goal alone.
  7. Progress Text decides what the bar says. What the Text Shows offers five forms — raised of goal with the percent, without it, raised with the percent, raised only, percent only — and Do not show for a bar with no numbers at all. Amounts carry digit grouping and your base currency. Text Position puts the line on the bar or under it; under it the size is not limited by the height of the bar.
  8. Goal Bounds is a row under the bar: zero on the left, the target on the right, what is raised in the middle. It is hidden until you turn it on — an overlay already in your scene must not change by itself.
  9. Styling above that list swaps the whole look: the built-in Neon, Minimal, Retro, plus templates of your own. Nothing is written until you press Save Settings — see Styling an Overlay.
  10. Test Progress above the preview drags the bar from 0 to 100% so you can see a filled bar without waiting for donations. The and + buttons on the right (Zoom out / Zoom in) scale the preview.
  11. Press Save Settings in the page header. The button itself reports Saving…, Saved or Error.
  12. The link for OBS is taken in the list, not here: Copy in the row of that goal. It goes into a Browser Source in OBS.
  13. Reset Customization drops the look you built for this goal and leaves the numbers alone.
