What this page is

Settings → Currency Rates decides where the app takes exchange rates from, so that a donation in another currency arrives in the base currency. The header states the job: "Donation conversion into the base currency: goals, auction, statistics".

How to set it up

  1. Open Settings → Currency Rates. The strip at the top names the source the current rates came from and, under it, Updated with their date; on the right stands the base currency code with the reminder "Base currency lives in Settings → Localization". While the source reads Stored rates (refresh failed), the app is counting with rates saved earlier — that is what stands there from start-up until a refresh succeeds.
  2. Rate source → Mode — pick Online — rates from the internet or Fixed — set manually. The hint reads "Fixed mode works without an internet connection". In fixed mode the next two settings disappear: they belong to online only.
  3. Where to take them fromAutomatically (tries sources in order), Bank of Russia, open.er-api.com (about 160 currencies) or European Central Bank. "Automatically" walks Bank of Russia, then open.er-api.com, then European Central Bank, and stops at the first one that answers — as the hint puts it, "a source unavailable in your country is skipped".
  4. Refresh every (hours) — a whole number from 1 to 24, six by default. "Official rates change once a day — more often makes no sense".
  5. Custom rates — every row reads "1 unit = value base currency". Press Add rate, put the code into the Code field and the number beside it. Units the app already knows — Twitch Bits and other in-platform units — arrive with their name printed and their code locked, so only the value is yours to fill. While the block is empty it says "No custom rates yet. Press "Add rate" to set one."
  6. A code is three to six letters or digits; a value is a number greater than zero, and a decimal takes a comma or a dot equally. An empty value is not an error — the row is simply left out. The bin at the end of a row removes it (Remove rate).
  7. The hint under the block states what these rates do in the mode you are in. Online: "Applied on top of the rates from the internet. Put here what no source provides: Twitch bits and other in-platform units." Fixed: "In fixed mode this is the only source of rates — the internet is not used."
  8. Press Save. The button goes through "Saving…" to "Saved" — until then nothing on the page is in force.
  9. Refresh now fetches rates without waiting for the schedule. On "Automatically" it may walk all three sources, so give it time: the button reads "Refreshing…" and finishes on "Updated".
  10. Current rates at the bottom is the table the app actually counts with — one cell per code with its value.
