What this page is

Lists holds the lists you show in OBS — "a running line or a column. Several lists in one place — each with its own content, format, speed and look". Every list in the table carries its own link, so two lists can sit in different places on the screen at the same time.

The section used to be called Ticker: a running line is now one of the formats rather than the point of the module.

How to set it up

1. Open Lists. Press Create widget — the list appears named New list and opens straight away.
2. The editor opens on Text. Source decides where the content comes from:
   • My own text — the phrases you type. Phrases is one box for all of them: "One phrase per line. They run in a loop, one after another."
   • Top donors — who gave the most, counted by the app itself. Period comes in two kinds and the difference matters. A rolling one (last 24 hours, last 7 days, last 30 days, last 365 days) always counts back from this moment, so the list never empties mid-stream. A calendar one — today, this week, this month, this year — counts from its own start, which is what people mean by "this month", and it does empty on the 1st, on Monday, at midnight. This stream counts the broadcast you are running now and starts empty with every one of them. Plus all time, and How many to show sets the length — 1 to 50 names. Amounts come in your base currency, written as a code (RUB, USD) rather than a symbol, because decorative fonts rarely carry currency symbols. Line format builds the line itself: click {rank}, {user}, {amount} or {currency} to drop a variable where the cursor is. The default is {rank}. {user} — {amount} {currency}; an empty field goes back to it.
   • Carousel challenges — the cards your carousel can drop, so viewers see what they are donating for. Colour by rarity paints each card in its group's rarity colour, and Shuffle the order mixes them.
3. Separator is picked from a list — a dot, a dash, a bar, a middle dot, a diamond, a star, No separator, or Custom with a box of your own. "Shown between phrases."
4. Open Motion. Format is Running line or Column.
5. For a running line, Direction is to the left or to the right. For a column it is no movement, downwards or upwards — a long column can scroll on its own.
6. A column also asks Rows in frame: "How many rows fit the OBS source. The rest scroll past." The source in OBS has a fixed height, so this decides where the list is cut.
7. The Speed slider runs from 10 to 400 px/s: "pixels per second: the higher the value, the faster the list moves."
8. The rest of the left column is the look. Backdrop — Background Color, Vertical Padding, Corner Radius, Bar Border, Shadow and Glow. Font and color — Text Color, Font Size, Font, Font Weight, Text Case, Letter Spacing, Text Shadow. Separator and gap — Separator Color and Gap Between Phrases, which is also the gap between rows of a column. Edge padding has Top and bottom and Left and right: a transparent margin between the edge of the Browser Source and the list. Material and Outline effect come right after Backdrop. Material draws the bar in one of twelve styles, with the phrases running on top of it. It paints only a bar that has a background or a border: after Minimal, whose bar is see-through, choosing a material draws nothing and only the text stays, so give the bar a Background Color or take a ready-made look from Styling. Under a material Bar Border is hidden, and Shadow and Glow too for some of them. Outline effect runs one of ten effects around the bar. Under Plays, On event flashes it when the content changes: you edited the phrases, a donation reshuffled the top donors, the carousel challenges changed. It does not flash when OBS first loads the list. The effect is drawn outside the bar too, and the Browser Source cuts off what does not fit. On the left and right, make room with Left and right in Edge padding. Above and below, only a Browser Source taller than the bar helps, by about 30 px on each side; Top and bottom does not. 9. Styling above that list changes the whole look at once: the built-in Neon, Minimal and Retro, twelve looks named after the materials, plus templates of your own. Neon, Minimal and Retro exist in every overlay and use the same colours, so applying Neon everywhere gives one picture. Apply applies the chosen one, the name field with Save stores the current look, Delete removes a template.
10. The preview keeps running while you edit: "The preview runs at the real speed, at the source size picked just under it." Source size under the preview is the size of your Browser Source in OBS, and the list is drawn inside a frame of that size, so Edge padding moves the bar exactly as it will on stream. - and + above the preview zoom it and change nothing in OBS. Until there are phrases, the preview shows no bar, just as the stream does.
11. The name of the list is the field in the editor header, next to Back to list.
12. Press Save. Back to list asks first when something is left unsaved: the text, the motion, the name or the look. Reset Customization puts the default look back on screen, and it is written only when you press Save.
13. In the table each row shows what it holds, followed by the Copy link button. The link itself is not shown; the button copies it, and it goes into a Browser Source in OBS.
14. The switch at the left of the row (Enabled) takes a list off the screen without deleting it. The overlay clears itself, so the source in OBS needs no reloading. The whole bar goes, background and shadow included, and nothing is left in that part of the frame; it comes back together with its text. A list with nothing to show, such as a top donors list with no donations in its period, disappears the same way.
15. Duplicate copies the list together with its content and its look. Delete asks first: "List "{name}" and its design will be deleted. Its OBS link will stop working."

What it cannot do

• Top donors and Carousel challenges need the parts that feed them. The carousel source is hidden when the carousel module is not installed.
• Top donors are read from Statistics, so the list holds only what Statistics wrote down. Three things leave it empty or short although donations came in. A donation service unticked in Count donations from on the Settings tab of Statistics is not recorded at all, so its donations never reach the top. This stream counts only a broadcast that is running right now: with no stream live it is empty, even straight after one ended. And with Statistics switched off, donations are not recorded as they arrive. Only two services still get there on their own, with a delay: DonationAlerts adds its donations when it checks its history every 15 minutes, and StreamEngine adds the payments made while the app was closed.
• Top donors are summed in your current base currency. If you changed the base currency at some point, donations counted in the old one are left out — they cannot be added to the new ones without inventing a rate.
• Carousel challenges show the card text only: no rarity name, no chance, no price.
• One phrase takes one line of the box. A phrase cannot be wrapped over two lines, and blank lines are dropped.
• Your own phrases run in the order they are written and go round forever. Shuffle the order works for carousel challenges only.
• Speed takes nothing below 10 or above 400 px/s.
• Colour, font and size belong to the whole list: single words cannot be styled apart, and text is shown exactly as typed. The one exception is Colour by rarity, which paints carousel cards by their group.
• Where the list sits and how wide it is come from the Browser Source in OBS — in OBS the list is as wide as the source.
• Lists are not grouped: each one is its own link, and they do not queue or wait for one another.
