What this page is

Settings → Localization holds two settings: the language the app speaks, and the base currency money is counted in. As the hint under the currency puts it, "Goals, auction and statistics are counted in it. Donations in other currencies are converted at the exchange rate".

How to set it up

  1. Open Settings → Localization.
  2. Interface language — pick one of six: English, Русский, Español, Português, Deutsch, Français. Each name is written in its own language, so you can find yours without reading the others. The choice applies the moment you pick it; the language has no separate save.
  3. Base currency — pick one of the fourteen in the list: USD — US dollar, EUR — Euro, GBP — Pound sterling, RUB — Russian ruble, KZT — Kazakhstani tenge, UAH — Ukrainian hryvnia, BYN — Belarusian ruble, PLN — Polish zloty, TRY — Turkish lira, GEL — Georgian lari, AMD — Armenian dram, AZN — Azerbaijani manat, UZS — Uzbek sum, KGS — Kyrgyz som.
  4. Press Save Settings beside the currency list. Picking a currency changes nothing on its own — it is stored when you press that button.
  5. If donation records in another currency exist, a confirmation named Convert history opens: "Convert the donation history to {currency} at the current rate? Records in another currency: {count}. Totals for past streams will change — this is a one-time operation, after it the numbers stay fixed again." Convert history agrees, Cancel leaves the history untouched.
  6. The line under the currency reports where the history stands: "Records in another currency: {count}. Until converted, totals mix currencies." or "The whole donation history is in this currency." While a conversion runs it reads "Converting…".
  7. The Convert history button next to that line is shown only while records in another currency remain — that is how you convert later if you pressed Cancel. Once everything is in one currency, the button disappears.
  8. The box at the bottom says whether there is anything to convert with. "Rates come from the Currency Rates module. While it is off, donations in other currencies are counted as-is, without conversion." With the module on it reads "The Currency Rates module keeps rates up to date — donations in other currencies are converted automatically." Open rate settings goes to that module, Settings → Currency Rates.
