Channel Points Manager
People ask this as
- how do I create a channel point reward
- my reward sits under external rewards and the switch is greyed out
- how do I change the cost of a reward I already made
- how do I put a cooldown on a reward
- the page says a scope is missing
What this page is
Automation → Channel Rewards is the list of your Twitch channel point rewards: "Create, configure, and delete Twitch custom rewards directly from here." Rewards made here are the ones strAImer can switch on and off later; rewards made on Twitch itself are shown but not managed.
How to set it up
- Open Automation → Channel Rewards. Without a connection the page shows only "Twitch is not connected. Please connect Twitch in the Channels sidebar tab."
- If a red bar appears — "Warning: missing {scopes} scope. Please re-authorize Twitch in the Channels menu." — it names the rights that are missing. Reconnect Twitch under Channels, then come back.
- Press Create Reward in the header.
- Reward Name is required, and the name has to be free: "A reward with this name already exists on your channel. Please change the name."
- Cost is required too and must be between 1 and 1,000,000.
- Background Color is the colour of the reward on Twitch. Use the swatch or type the hex value beside it.
- Description for viewers is optional — "Describe what happens when this reward is redeemed…".
- Skip request queue (auto-approve) decides whether redemptions land in your Twitch queue or are approved at once. It comes ticked for a new reward.
- Require viewer to enter text makes the viewer type something when redeeming — that text is what a scenario later puts into {message}.
- Enable global cooldown opens a field in sec, from one second up. Enable limit per stream and Enable limit per user per stream each open their own number field.
- Press Create. The reward appears under Managed Rewards (strAImer).
- Each card shows the name, the cost and a tag for every option that is on: Input, Cooldown, Stream Limit, User Limit, Auto-Approve.
- On a managed card the switch turns the reward on and off on Twitch, the copy button (Copy reward) opens the create form filled in from that reward and with " (copy)" added to the name, and the bin deletes it: "Are you sure you want to permanently delete this reward from Twitch?"
- External Rewards (Twitch Dashboard) holds everything created outside the app. Their switch is greyed out: "Created manually on Twitch — management via strAImer is unavailable. To manage it (toggle by conditions), recreate it via strAImer." The copy button works there too and is the way to recreate one as managed.
- Synchronize in the header re-reads the list from Twitch. Use it after making changes on Twitch itself, or when the page reports "Could not get the list of rewards managed by strAImer. Your rewards are intact — press "Synchronize" to try again."
What it cannot do
- A reward that exists cannot be edited here. Cost, name, colour, description, cooldown and limits are set when it is created; the way to change them is the copy button plus a new reward, or Twitch itself.
- An external reward cannot be switched from this page, and it cannot be turned into a managed one — only recreated as a new one.
- Deleting is done on Twitch's side and is permanent; nothing here brings a reward back.
- Redemptions are not shown or approved here — the request queue stays on Twitch.
- Nothing on this page decides what a reward does. That is a separate matter: a reward becomes a trigger under Automation → Scenarios.
- Kick and YouTube have nothing here — the page manages Twitch channel points only.
- Without the two Twitch rights the page names in its warning, rewards cannot be read or managed at all.
