What this page is
Carousel is the donation pool that spins a ribbon of cards once the bar fills up — "Donations fill the bar, and a full bar spins the carousel". It lives at Carousel → Carousel and has two tabs: Groups, where the cards are, and Pool, where the money and the timings are.
The whole set — this page, the Challenges page, the three OBS overlays and the two dashboard tiles — arrives as one item named Carousel in Module Catalog → Add-ons. See the Module Catalog article for how installing works.
How to set it up
Groups and cards
- Open Carousel → Carousel. On a fresh install the Groups tab already holds three groups — Common, Uncommon and Rare — with starter cards in them, so a spin works before you touch anything.
- A group tile shows its rarity badge, the odds as a percentage, "{n} cards", the No repeats badge when that is on, and the first six card texts. The switch on the tile is Take part in spins; the gear opens Group settings.
- Add group makes one called New group at rarity Common and opens it.
- Inside a group, the left column is the group itself. Group name, then Rarity — Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary, Artifact — with the line under it reading "This group comes up in {n}% of spins". The rarity is what sets the odds; the percentage is recalculated across the groups that are switched on and actually have cards, so it moves when you enable or empty a neighbour.
- No repeats — "A card that came up leaves the deck until the group runs out". With it off the same card can come up twice in a row.
- Turn on for these games takes game names separated by commas, and Add the current one fills in what you are streaming now. The hint below reads "Right now on air: {game}" or "The game is not known: Twitch and Kick report it, YouTube does not". A group with games listed switches itself on when one of those games starts and off when you move to another; a group with the field empty is never touched — its switch stays yours.
- The right column is Cards. Each row has a pencil to edit the card in place and a bin to remove it.
- Add one card takes Card text, Challenge counter, Counter type — Times, Minutes or Percent — and How much it adds. Leave the counter name empty "if the card only announces something and nothing needs counting". Press Add card.
- Add a series at once builds a run of cards from one template: "One template plus a list of numbers: {n} is replaced by each value, and the same number goes into the challenge counter". Fill Card template — the {n} chip beside it inserts the placeholder — then Values as a comma-separated list, then Challenge counter and Counter type, and press Create cards.
- Save in the group header stores the group; Cancel and Back to groups leave it. Delete group sits alone at the bottom and asks first: "Delete the group "{name}" with all its cards?"
The pool, and when it spins
- On the Pool tab the bar at the top is the pool as it stands, with four figures under it: Left to collect, Spins queued, Spins so far and Discount.
- Add to the pool by hand with Add puts money in yourself — "For donations that came past the platforms, and for testing". Reset pool clears it and asks first: "Clear the pool and the queue of spins?" It also puts a raised bar back to the base Trigger amount, zeroes Spins so far and switches off a running discount.
- Spin settings starts with When to spin — Automatically, once the bar is full or Only by button.
- Trigger amount is "How much to collect before the carousel spins".
- Raise the bar after every spin is Keep it the same, By a fixed amount or By a percentage, with Step size and a line telling you what the bar becomes after the first spin.
- Three timings shape the spin: Pause before the spin, seconds (0 to 30) — "The ribbon slides in and waits this long, so the start of the spin is seen"; Spin length, seconds (1 to 60); and Show the winning card, seconds (0 to 60).
- Hide the ribbon when there is nothing to spin — "It slides away after the last spin. While more spins are queued it keeps spinning without leaving".
- Round to whole numbers — "No kopecks on the bar. The threshold keeps growing exactly — only what is shown and compared becomes whole". With a small percentage step the shown target can repeat twice in a row; that is the rounding, not a stuck bar.
- Count Twitch bits — "Bits arrive as a donation converted by the rate you set in Settings".
- Idle discount is the block that shortens the wait when nothing is coming in. Cut the bar when donations stop switches it on, then Discount size, % (1 to 99), Silence before the discount, minutes (1 to 1440), Discount lasts, minutes (1 to 1440) and Discount chance, % (1 to 100). The line under the size works the sum out for you, on the figures standing in the pool right now. The cut is taken off what is still missing, not off the whole target, and the shortened target is then fixed — later donations do not push it away again. The first spin uses the discount up.
- Guaranteed rare card promises a good card after a dry run. Promise a rare card switches it on, Spins without a rare card is how long the run has to be, and Counts as rare from picks the rarity that ends it.
- Donation sources is a tick per platform. An unticked source does not fill the pool, and a source added later starts counting on its own.
- Save in the page header stores the Pool tab. Groups and cards are not part of it — they save when you press their own buttons.
- Spin now in the header spins once straight away, even with the bar half empty. It does nothing if there are no cards to draw.
Turning the module off for a day
The control tile has a power button. Switched off, donations do not go into the pool and spins do not start, neither from a donation nor from the button and every OBS overlay of the set goes dark. What has already accumulated stays where it is: switching off and resetting are separate actions, and the reset buttons are unchanged.
This is not the same as removing the module in the catalogue. Removing unloads the whole set at once and lives in the catalogue, not at hand during a stream; the power button is in the tile you already keep on your control panel, and it survives restarting the app.
What it cannot do
- The idle discount only runs while you are on air. Off air it is never switched on, and the count of silence starts again from zero the moment a stream begins — so a night with the app open never hands out a discount in the first minute of the next stream.
- The carousel, the pool bar and the challenge list are three separate overlays. Each has its own page and its own link, and each is added to OBS as its own Browser Source; putting the ribbon on the stream does not put the bar or the list there.
- All amounts are in your base currency, the one on Settings → Localization. This page has no currency of its own, and a donation in a currency with no exchange rate is skipped rather than guessed at — rates live on Settings → Currency Rates.
- The odds cannot be typed in. Rarity sets them, and cards inside one group are equally likely — there is no weight field for either.
- Cards are text only. There is no picture, no colour and no sound per card; sound belongs to the overlay.
- No more than 20 spins can wait in the queue. Money that arrives past that stays in the pool rather than being lost, and turns into spins again as the queue drains.
- A spin cannot be cancelled or replayed once it starts, and the winning card cannot be chosen or overridden.
- Spin now does not skip the ribbon: the pause, the spin and the result still take the seconds you set.
- The list of cards that came up is not on this page and cannot be cleared anywhere — it is shown, last twelve only, on the Carousel: Control dashboard tile.
- Nothing here schedules a spin by clock or by follower count: only money in the pool and the button start one.
- A group with games listed is switched by the game alone. There is no way to say "on for this game and also whenever I turn it on by hand".
