AI Agent
- how do I set up the ai agent
- where do I put the bot's name for chat
- how do I make the agent answer donations
- the bot invented a holiday that does not exist
- why does the bot say it cannot check the news
- the agent searches the internet too often and burns credits
- can the bot list my chat commands
Where the settings are
Settings are at Chat Bot → AI Agent. Its knowledge lives at Chat Bot → Knowledge Base. Signing in to the strAImer account — which the agent needs — is at Settings → strAImer Account. Without an account the page opens with a notice saying so, and its Sign in button takes you straight there.
How to set it up
The agent only answers when it is addressed by name, and Bot Nicknames in Chat is empty on a fresh install. There are no built-in names — not "bot", not "ai", not "straimer". Fill that field in, comma-separated. A connected separate bot account also counts as a name automatically, but only if that bot is actually set up under Connections → Bots.
The trigger has to open the line. "bot, what do you think" works; "hey, what does the bot think" does not.
Donation responses
Answering donations is off by default, and even switched on it does nothing until a target chat is chosen. Both settings are under Donation Responses on the agent's page. Check the minimum amount too — a threshold above the donation silences it.
What is normal here
By default the agent answers at most once every 10 seconds, so in a busy chat most mentions are skipped on purpose. Chat Response Rate also applies — at less than 100% some mentions are ignored deliberately.
Replies are also shortened to fit: 190 characters on YouTube, 400 elsewhere.
The agent does not know what is going on in the world unless it looks it up. Asked what today's holiday is, or about news, weather, prices or match results, it says it cannot check that right now rather than naming something — an invented answer in chat is worse than no answer. Turn on Search the internet and it looks such questions up instead; a search costs 10 credits against the 1–2 of an ordinary reply.
This is about the outside world only. Today's game, how long the stream has been running, past streams, your links and your gear come from the app itself, and the agent answers those with no search and no extra cost. It also knows the chat commands you have set up, so "what commands do you have" is answered from the app rather than guessed.
Smart mode, and what it costs
Smart mode lets the agent decide for itself when a question needs the internet, instead of waiting for the trigger words. As its description puts it: "Answers get more accurate, but each one costs 2 credits instead of 1, and a web search still costs 10." Your knowledge base and profile are used either way.
Because the agent is now the one deciding, there is a brake next to it: Limit web searches with Searches per hour. It is counted over the last hour rather than from the top of the hour, and zero means no searches at all — to remove the limit switch the toggle off instead of setting zero. Left off, nothing limits the searching.
Things that look like settings but are not
- There are no voice settings on this page. Reading replies aloud is switched on in Settings → Sound with the Bot replies toggle; the agent only sends the text there.
- Voice commands do not exist. Nothing in the product produces them, no matter what any older description says.
